    Description

This is a vintage celluloid on tin political campaign pin back button. It reads only: "HIRAM W. JOHNSON" and pictures the candidate. Mr. Johnson served as the Governor of California from 1911 to 1917. From 1917 to 1945, he was a California U.S. senator. In 1912, he was Teddy Roosevelt's Vice Presidential running mate under the "Bull Moose" ticket. He ran for president, but failed to get the nomination in 1920. I can't say WHICH of his many campaigns this if from, but I would GUESS this to be circa 1920 - give or take. The pin measures 7/8 of an inch. I would call the condition GOOD, but please read the description, see the pictures, and make your own grade. There are a couple of small nicks in the surface celluloid, and a bit of soiling. The paper backing is present, and reads: "L.A. Badge & Mfg. Co. 342 S. Broadway. Los Angeles, Cal." It is guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back.
