Vintage Communications Speaker by Monitoradio Model DRS-1 *Tested*

Description

For your inspection is this Vintage Monitoradio Communications Speaker Model DRS-1, made in Indianapolis, IN.
It is a 3.2 Ohm device. My tests using a sine wave generator show excellent performance over the range of 20 Hz to 4 KHz, optimized for general communications service.
This was the matching speaker for Monitoradio receivers and measures 8 x 8 x 6.5 inches. The wrinkle paint is either black or dark gray, I cannot determine it for sure.  The color has dulled some with age.
The cabinet is solidly built with precision bends and joints. The speaker itself is braced so its weight is not entirely born by the four mounting screws, thus keeping it rigidly in place. This was a deluxe product, professionally designed and built and the fact that it still works as engineered and looks great more than a half century later is testament to that claim.
The condition is very good, some small signs of age and use. No rust, no extra holes, no dents. The round felt feet are all there and in good shape.  Examine the photos and judge for yourself.
This would make a fine companion for any radio, old or new.
