This auction is for a vintage presentation gavel in the original velvet lined box.  The gavel has a brass band that is marked " TO THE HONORABLE DAVID STAHL ON HIS APPOINTMENT TO THE COURT OF APPEAL FROM HIS COLLEAGUES OF THE FACULTY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH SCHOOL OF LAW  1968". David Stahl was born in 1920 and died in 1970. He was appointed by Lyndon Johnson in 1968 to the court of appeals and confirmed by the Senate to this post.  This auction also includes information about this man's life and career as pictured. The gavel measures 10 inches in length and is in very good condition.  Study the pictures carefully as there are no returns. This seller does not ship internationally.
