Description
Seven (7) different pin-back buttons for the congressional campaigns of Nick Begich. The blue 1968 pins with small print (1st issue) I got directly from Nick himself. The other ones were left overs from his subsequent campaigns, and came out of his campaign headquarters in Nome, Alaska. These are lithograph and are 35mm (a little over 1 1/4"). In very fine condition. The photos on this listing are generic, as I have several sets available. Will be in same or better condition. The average collectors market price on these is a little over ten dollars each. I am an original source and can therefore offer a low wholesale price at beginning bid.Nick Begich became the Congressman from Alaska in 1970 and was instrumental in getting the Native Land Claims bill passed through Congress. In October 1972 while campaigning with Hale Boggs (D, LA, US Congress) his plane was lost in the mountain ranges of southern Alaska. Although it was clearly evident that he was now deceased, he won re-election by a land slide. These buttons are a collectible from one of Alaska's most influential statesmen.
I combine shipping on multiple orders.
