-Bianco over Nero, Grey Carpeting, Complete and thorough restoration with no stone left unturned, 1,779cc Inline 4 Cylinder Engine, 5-Speed, Euro Specification, Removable aftermarket hard top, Extensive Documentation, Original Bill of Sale.
The beautiful Duetto bodywork was penned at Pininfarina and the last project that the company's founder, Battista "Pinin" Farina had a personal hand in. The beautiful design is characterized by minimal chrome, distinctly sculptured body sides and that signature tapering, rounded tail. This is the original expression of the long-running Alfa Spider and is considered by many to be the purest and most desirable of all models in the 27-year production run. The model achieved worldwide public recognition after starring alongside Dustin Hoffman in the film, The Graduate.
The Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce was designed to replace the original 1600 Spider Duetto. Manufactured between 1967 and 1969, the 1750 Spider Veloce was the culmination of the model. It is estimated that approximately 4,674 units were produced, European examples featured a 1,779cc engine with dual Weber carburation, whereas models in the American market used SPICA mechanical fuel injection. Both models enjoyed the same horsepower rating of 116 HP, although the European version has always been favored in comparison to the SPICA, which in comparison is far more costly to maintain.
This Duetto has been completely restored, cosmetically it shows the quality of the workmanship as exceptional throughout. Mechanically, it has been dialed in since restoration with limited mileage and on our recent road test, this Duetto was found to be excellent in every way, with superb power and of course, the intake and exhaust sounds typical of this Alfa's sporting nature. The Duetto is considered among the finest driver's cars of all time, known for their lively handling and spritely revving twin-cam engines. Some say they are unmatched for sheer driving joy/fun. One thing is for sure, it is it will always put a smile on ones face when used and enjoyed.
This Euro Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce is ready for immediate enjoyment. It is accompanied by a tool kit, full-size spare tire, Battaini jack, historical documents, books, records, and an Alfa Romeo Certificato di Origine. The car performs flawlessly in every-way and it is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
